Christians are individuals who have been saved by Jesus Christ's death on the cross from the horrible end of their sin and been made the objects of His divine love. There is only one proper response to this kind of love and that is to respond in kind! In fact, the bible commands Christians to respond to God's love and forgiveness in kind.

We read in the bible in Luke 7 about sinners who are filled with gratitude when they realize that Christ paid a debt on their behalf they could never pay! The person who realizes how great a love has been shown to them will love in return. The individual who is unaffected by God's glorious grace and does not forgive in return will not be forgiven. Matthew 18.
